Today's Morning skate interviews

Great match up tonight!
I hope my fellow Blackhawks fans from Chicago and all over the world can tune in on their television or computers to watch this game! Turco will be in the net for the Hawks tonight and as for Luongo, he had a shaking start Tuesday night in Minnesota. It will definitely be an interesting matchup between Turco and Luongo, but the Canucks may go with Cory Schneider who had 32 saves in his NHL victory Sunday night in 5-1 win over the Hurricanes.
Stats
6 GP 7
2 W 4
3 L 2
1 OT 1
5 P 9

78.6 PK% 88.5
29.8 S/G 30.7
30.3 SA/G 33.7

I wouldn't call this a completely even match up but it's two talented teams coming together.
The game wil be exciting, tense, and hopefully result in a win for the Blackhawks!

The Vancouver Canucks versus the Blackhawks at the United Center, game time is 8:00 PM Central (9 PM Eastern).

Kaner talks about his first "rookie" card and growing up in Buffalo

A short little piece on Patrick Kane's "real" rookie card and collecting now. Check it out after the jump.

ESPN Magazine scans - Patrick Kane

The latest issue of ESPN magazine features the 2011 NHL Season preview as well as hockey and winter sport related articles.
There was a great piece about Patrick Kane that I really enjoyed. It focused on about Pat's personality and how staying true to who he is without being polished like his peers Sidney Crosby and Jonathan Toews is a good and bad thing.
Enjoy it!

Blackhawks star says he prays every night to 'become a better person'

Great article and interview by the Chicago Tribune on Patrick Kane. The piece was candid and honest with Pat. He talked about the cab-driver incident, time with the Stanley Cup and as well as the festivities around Buffalo. I hope you enjoy the read because I did !

Kane had fun-filled, sun-soaked and exhausting days Friday and Saturday as he crisscrossed Buffalo with hockey's most coveted prize. He took it to Niagara Falls, a hospital specializing in cancer treatment, a cemetery to visit the graves of relatives, a hockey rink and his favorite pizzeria, among other stops.

Beyond the reading, there was the discovery of an emotional and spiritual side to Kane, how fiercely loyal he is to friends and family and just how much he wants to be a good man.

"For the past year or so, I've been praying to God every night that he can help me become a better person and help me make a difference not only in sports, but in the world," Kane said Saturday before heading to Chicago, where he was scheduled to bring the Cup onstage at a Jimmy Buffett concert. "Whether that's helping one or two people out, that's what it is. If it's things like (visiting Roswell Park Cancer Institute on Friday), that's even better."

Kane wasn't shy to reveal how emotional he was during Saturday's visit to the graves of his two grandmothers and a family friend.

"I'm an emotional kid, I cried three times," Kane said. "It's just the way I am. I feel like I really have a big heart."

Kaner with the cup update!

Pat will have the Stanley Cup friday in Buffalo.
Here is a direct quote from the blog post at NHL.com:
The hero of Game 6 is ready to celebrate what he made possible. Patrick Kane is bringing the Stanley Cup home to South Buffalo on Friday.

Kane, who was maybe the only person in the house that knew his hard-angled shot beat Michael Leighton for the Cup-winning goal, will receive the trophy at his parents house early Friday and spend the better part of a day and a half celebrating in the Buffalo region. Then, early Saturday evening, Kane and some of his buddies are boarding a private plane bound for Chicago because Kane and the Cup are invited guests to a Jimmy Buffet concert.

Kane will bring the Cup on stage during Margaritaville.

Beforehand, though, Kane's schedule is packed.

After receiving the Cup at his parents house Kane is bringing it to Niagara Falls for some cool pictures at Cave of the Winds. We needed to file insurance waivers just to join him there.

After about two hours at the Falls, Kane's entourage is heading to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, where he and the Cup will visit with patients. Kane will then head to a photo opp at the construction site of a new medical building with some ironworkers whom his father is friendly with.

Kane will spend roughly two hours visiting with local police and fire officials and officers at the New Era Cap outlet in Buffalo. He will take more pictures and sign more autographs for Buffalo's finest.

From the cap store, Kane will head out to West Seneca to DJ Spinners, a roller hockey rink, where he and his buddies will play a game of floor hockey for the Cup. Kane told me they play there once a week in the summer.

From Spinners, Kane's entourage travels to Cheektowaga for his private party at Creekside Banquet Facility.

After putting in a full day Friday, Kane has several more hours with the Cup in Buffalo on Saturday before leaving for Chicago. He plans to take it to a cemetary to visit some family grave sites, plus to a rink and a pizza place. Those details are still being ironed out.

Follow Kane's time with the Cup right here on NHL.com.

Patrick Kane and the Cup Schedule for Saturday

Found this on a tumblr post, so I can't confirm it's accurate, I am still looking for a news source, but here is something:

8:30 am Cave of the Winds in Niagara Falls State Parks for photo on the Hurricane Deck.
11 am Roswell Park, where Kane will visit patients.
12:30 pm Kane will meet and thank steelworkers for their painted tribute on the 6th floor beam at the Global Vascular Institute, under construction behind Buffalo General Hospital.
1:30-3:30 pm Buffalo Police and Fire members and families invited to see the cup at New Era Headquarters in downtown Buffalo.

Tazer and Kaner pic their ultimate hockey team for NHL2K11

From this article by Rocky Bonanno on NHL.com, the NHL11 game has a mode that allows you to play in a league. There are some serious AI's added to it and scenarios almost like The Sims, except you don't have to raise a family or worrying about feeding them. But this will definitely achieve what they want for the fans, which is a great, realistic experience of the game.

You assemble your team through a player card system, beginning with a starter pack that contains players from every league in hockey -- NHL, American Hockey League, Canadian Hockey League, and various European leagues -- logo and home and away uniforms, an arena to call your own, a coach, training, contracts, and more. With this starter pack, you are free to begin assembling your lines, managing your contracts, working on team chemistry, training your players, etc.

Wow, this is pretty sweet! I have played many sport games such as MLB10The Show, MLB2K Series, and Madden and I am curious as to see how NHL11 plays out. I am itching for a copy of this for Playstation 3 or Xbox 360!

Toews, Kane and Sedins choose their Ultimate Hockey Team for NHL 11.

Patrick Kane to get Stanley Cup on Friday

Buffalo is getting a gleaming visitor this week.

The Chicago Blackhawks said Monday and Patrick Kane Sr. confirmed today that the Stanley Cup is coming to town Friday, as Patrick Kane's turn to host the trophy has arrived. The Blackhawks' forward and South Buffalo native scored the Cup-winning goal in June, giving members of his organization their own day with the Cup this summer.

Kane Sr. had no information about his son's plans for the Cup but said a news release about the agenda is expected to be released today by the office of Congressman Brian Higgins.

The Cup has had a busy week already. Chicago goaltender Cristobal Huet, a Frenchman, took the trophy to the top of the Eiffel Tower on Monday. After the Cup's handlers haggled with Air France -- which, according to NHL.com, was going deny access to the trophy because of the airline's weight restrictions -- Lord Stanley's chalice made its way to Sweden.

Upon arriving there, Blackhawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson took the Cup to a childrens' hospital, a playground barbecue and a parade Tuesday.

Pat Kane at the ESPYS!

Kaner and an amazing but slightly atrocious suit showed up at the 2010 ESPYs.
Pat didn't present but he was there represnting the Blackhawks, who were nominated for best team.

KEEP IT CLASSY KANER ...
A random paparazzi group got a video of Pat going into the W hotel in Hollywood.

That's right, a random guy in a bush filming Patrick Kane getting into a hotel.
He's hit it big time, he's an A-lister now, don't let it get to your head Kaner...even though it probably already did.

Patrick's time with the Stanley Cup is coming in August, everyone save their daughters, livers, and sleep for that time with the Cup!
